Hobart City Mission helps individuals and families in need in Southern Tasmania. We bring together people who give and people in need, through the provision of client focused, holistic and innovative services to enable people to participate in community life to the best of their ability.

Hobart Women's Shelter

Welcome to the Hobart Women's Shelter. We provide safe, emergency accommodation and support to women and children who are affected by family violence and those who are experiencing homelessness. The Shelter operates 25 emergency accommodation units serviced by an administrative centre located on the same site, and 10 transitional properties that provide medium term accommodation for families.

Our team use a trauma-informed practice framework to assist women and their children to address their unique needs including housing, legal aid, health, education, employment, financial, and emotional support.

We work with the community through advocacy, partnerships, education, training and consultation, raises awareness about issues experienced by women and children who are homeless and/or affected by family violence. In 2022, we embarked on an ambitious project to build 25 new permanent homes for women and children facing homelessness by 2024 – with our first two homes due for completion in 2023, and land secured for an additional 19.

Holistic Avenue is a charity that provides a free trauma informed support service for domestic and family violence and sexual assault for women and children in Forbes NSW and the surrounding communities.

We are a community following Jesus together, participating in and pursuing the mission of God. We seek to reach up to God, reach in to our community family and reach out to the world. Our organisation supports our community through our community pantry and fridge, this service is free to anyone experiencing food insecurity, home insecurity due to cost of living pressures.

Holroyd Parramatta Mobile Minders Inc

HPMM works in close partnership with approximately 25 local community organisations by providing onsite childcare. By removing the barrier of childcare children reap the benefits of our early childhood education service while their parents/carers participate in the wonderful programs these organisations offer.

Holy Cross Anglican Church - Tuckerbox

Tuckerbox is a food outlet designed to assist people struggling to meet their budgets. Pensioners, people living with disabilities, and working families on tight budgets are members of Tuckerbox. The annex at the back of the church is transformed into a small grocery and afternoon tea centre on Saturdays from 2pm to 4pm.

Holy Spirit College Cooktown & Cairns

Providing second and often last chance education for disengaged and marginalised young people aged 11 to 18 years. Working with low socio-economic young people who have issues such as trauma, ADHD, ADD, OCD, RAD, ODD, ASD, anxiety, domestic violence, high transient rate, drug and alcohol issues.

HOME in Queanbeyan Inc

HOME provides long-term supported accommodation for twenty men and women with enduring mental illness. It features twenty self-contained residential apartments in a safe, loving, non-institutional setting. We aim to support our residents to live meaningful lives in their community.

Provides primary healthcare for people experiencing homelessness.

Homeless No More

Donations, gifts, food hampers, food, clothing, toiletries, fundraising, helping people who are homeless, those who are suffering from the effects of old age, sickness, which have no family support. Providing work related training e.g. resume preparation; interviewing techniques; personal grooming, goal setting workshops to assist in looking for employment.

Homes North Community Housing

Homes North Community Housing supports eligible homeless and/or at-risk clients into their own affordable homes. Homes North also has programs that support clients in private rentals as well as social housing. These programs support domestic violence victims, long term homeless, youth ect.

Home-Start - Kempsey Macleay

Kempsey -Macleay Home Start has been operating in the Kempsey Macleay area for the past 21 years, However, over time the focus of the service is to offer parenting programs, programs that cover every aspect of parenting, including;
~ The Circle of Security
~ The Positive Parenting Program and the many additional programs including Pathways and Enhance programs
~ Bringing Up Great Kids
~ The Black Box Parenting
~ Any issue to do with parenting is offered to assist families function well.
I run the programs One on One and Seminars to Groups.

I have a Partnership with an Aboriginal service Many Rivers Family Violence Prevention Unit for the past 18 years this is still going strong, with many of the families that I work with being Aboriginal this is an important Partnership, i work with many parents escaping domestic violence, parents with mental health issues , parents with drug and alcohol issues. Kempsey is a town of great poverty, there is a lot of social disorganisation.

Home-Start Australia - Goulburn

Home-Start is a family worker and volunteer home visiting service with locations in regional NSW and Victoria. The Southern
Tablelands service has operated for over 11 years across the Goulburn Mulwaree LGA and Crookwell. Our family worker
model offers in-home parenting support for families with children under 5 years under the NSW Government’s Targeted
Earlier Intervention Program. The Service is funded by FACS for a part time family worker. Through fundraising we also
recruit, train and support a small team of volunteer home visitors to augment the family work by getting alongside families as
a companion for a couple of hours a week.
The Home-Start Family Worker undertakes intensive work with families under stress with the aim of strengthening the
emotional bonds between parents and children, increasing the enjoyment of family life and connecting families to broader
community services and activities. A major reason for referral to Home-Start is social isolation.

Home-Start Family Services is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to helping children and families thrive by providing practical parenting support & training, family case management and community connection.

Home-Start Family Services - Cowra Canowindra and Weddin

We provide support to vulnerable families through our professional Family and Community Worker. Through home visiting and centre based support, parents and children can access parenting education and information, child development, advocacy, supported referrals, early literacy and community education and events. We also provide safe, sensory play sessions for children who have experienced trauma.

Home-Start National Inc - Newcastle

We provide support to vulnerable families through professional Family and Parenting Workers and teams of trained volunteers. They home visit parents and children in their own homes and help with practical and emotional support.

Hope Centre Services - Logan

Hope Centre Services is a modern, dynamic non-for-profit enterprise that conducts life changing programs in various locations across the Greater Brisbane area. This innovative organisation began as CityCare in 1995 in Fortitude Valley in response to the issue of homelessness and to care for the many disadvantaged and marginalised.Our aim is to provide a multifaceted range of unique and compassionate services that offer hope and opportunity to those facing personal challenges and hardship. Our goal is to restore hope and dignity to people of all ages and from all walks of life who may be trapped in repressive habits or who may have experienced trauma or some other form of hardship or difficulty.

For Hope Centre Services, empowering people today means providing crisis care, individualised support, re-skilling, acquiring new life skills and assistance in finding employment.

At all of the Hope Centre Services programs, people are treated with honour and respect.

Hope City Mission Inc

Hope City Mission was established in 2004, with the mandate to build healthy and strong communities by providing a safe place for people in financial hardship to receive support, education and hope for their current situation.

We empower change in people’s lives via drive thru and home delivery Emergency Food Relief, Financial Literacy and Life Skills online learning portal, Advocacy, WDP Fines Victoria program where those eligible can work of their fines debt through volunteering or educational workshops and Seasons of Hope 84+ vegetable garden.

We currently supporting over 525 individuals each month and in 2020 we distributed over $700,000 worth of food.

Hope For Our Children

Hope For Our Children's (HFOC) focus is on raising awareness and improving the plight of the foster child in the Darling Downs region. We strive to change a foster child’s life via multiple avenues, all of which offer love, support and hope to the children. In 2017, there were approximately 2000 children (from newborn to 18 years-of-age), in foster care in the Darling Downs region alone. This equates to ¼ of all of the foster children in Queensland. HFOC offers support to all of these children and their foster carers.
When a child is being removed (and entering the foster care system), the experience is often traumatic and leaves the child feeling helpless, distressed, anxious and of little self-worth. One of our proposed projects is to supply recently removed children with a backpack full of essentials (e.g. pyjamas, toothbrush, hairbrush etc). We believe this eases some of the trauma of removal which will make transitioning to foster care easier for the child.

Hope House

Provide medium term therapeutic rehabilitation accommodation through coordinated programs and education, assistance and support for homeless men who have addictions, mental health issues, in contact or at risk of being in contact with the justice system, victims or perpetrators of domestic violence or been beaten by life in general to help these men to re-engage with and become active contributing members of our community.

Hope Springs Therapeutic Community

Hope Springs is a 22-bed facility that operates under a Therapeutic Community model. It is a structured community where the whole person gets treated, both physically and mentally.
All activities are considered part of therapy and are directed towards assisting the person to develop their skills and identity and work toward managing their own recovery. Even the most fundamental necessities, such as laundry, cooking, maintenance, and office work can be therapeutic, and are also vital in developing essential life skills. In fact, work is one of the most distinctive components of the therapeutic community (TC) model.
The work hierarchy of the TC is integral to the functioning of the program and strengthens the peer community through the transmission of values such as community mindedness, right living and recovery. TC residents are responsible for the practical tasks that sustain the day-to-day operations of the community.
