Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour

The Rotary Club of Sydney Darling Harbour is a fun, dynamic and inclusive club that does some amazing work in the community at a local, national and international level and are focused on giving a ‘hand up’ rather than a ‘hand out.’

In terms of our demographic, we have quite a range of ages, some ‘less experienced’ young professional members, as well as several ‘more experienced’ Rotarians who have a wealth of knowledge and are really great mentors to those who are new to Rotary.

Typical annual projects include (but are not limited to): Boxing Day lunch for the homeless in Sydney, donating clothes/laundry detergent to The Station; a Sewing School for women in Nepal; scholarships for women at risk; building water wells and toilets in India; tree planting with Sydney City Rotaract; clothes collection and fundraiser for Dress for Success; four separate BBQ fundraisers; sponsoring young people to attend the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and much more.

Royal Far West

We work closely with families, schools, allied health professionals and local communities to connect rural and remote Australian children with the healthcare they need.

Every child is different, and so are their needs. Most children begin their Royal Far West journey with a comprehensive screening and assessment, often conducted in our Healthy Kids Bus Stop. Their experiences from that point will differ depending on the best available solution to their health and wellbeing challenges; from connecting with local services to remote Telecare services, and the specialist intensive programs available at our center in Manly.

Our relationships with the families we support continue to grow from there. We offer ongoing intervention and support via Telecare, return visits to Manly, and in some cases, in-community services tailored to the needs of each child and their family.

Started 90 years ago, the RFDS has grown to become the most comprehensive aeromedical service in the world, with flying doctors, nurses, specialists and allied health professionals taking essential health care services to country communities. Our multidisciplinary teams provide services from emergency retrievals to telehealth consultations, patient transfers and clinics (GP, mental health, dental health, and child and maternal health).
