How to get help through GIVIT
To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

Women with Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) is Disabled Person’s Organisation (DPO) that practices systemic advocacy on behalf of women, girls, feminine identifying, and non-binary people with disabilities in the ACT. We follow a human rights philosophy, based on the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
Women’s Power of Inspiration Inc
Women’s Power of Inspiration (WPI) was set up on 19th June 2022. Its main purpose is to assist Australian- Rwandan women as well as other vulnerable African refugees and migrants living in South-East Queensland.
The main goal of WPI is to bring these women together, help them make connections, increase community engagement and facilitate integration into their local communities.

Womens Centre FNQ
The Womens Centre FNQ is a specialist Domestic Violence and homelessness service in Far North Queensland (Cairns and Atherton).
We offer a range of support services to assist women and children who are experiencing or escaping from family and domestic violence or are at risk of/are currently homeless.
Our Programs include:

Women's Centre for Health and Wellbeing
At the Women's Centre for Health and Wellbeing we offer support through counselling to domestic violence and sexual assault victims/survivors as well as running programs for women such as yoga, meditation ect. We also run a legal clinic for women in need, No Interest Loan Scheme (NILS) and a Well Women's Health Nurse Clinic.

Women's Community Aid Association (Qld)
We are committed to working to end violence against women and children.
We provide support services for women and children who are affected by domestic and family violence and for women affected by sexual violence.
Women's Health Awareness Group of Gladstone Inc
We provide counselling and support services for adults, teenagers and children affected by Domestic and Family Violence. We also provide other support services for women in our community.
Women's Health Information and Referral Service CQ Inc
We are a non for profit community organisation who provide free of charge general counselling to women and provide sexual assault counseling to women, men and children. We also offer services to help homeless women
Women's Health Matters
Women's Health Matters advocate on behalf of all ACT women, especially those experiencing disadvantage and vulnerability.
We seek to improve access to health information and enhance knowledge and understanding about the causes of health and illness among anyone who identifies as a woman.
We also work closely with women involved with the criminal justice system and support them on their release back into the community.
Women's Health West
Women’s Health West have delivered family violence services for women and children since 1994. They provide crisis outreach and court support, housing establishment and crisis accommodation options, counselling and group work programs for women and for children.
Women's Housing Ltd - NSW
Provision of affordable and social housing services for women and women headed households. This housing is both transitional and permanent in nature.
Women's Housing Ltd - VIC
Women’s Housing Limited (WHL) is a registered community housing provider whose core business is the development and provision of housing for women and women-headed households.
We have significant experience in working directly with women (and their families) who are facing housing crisis
WHL’s clients are women who are at risk of homelessness or are disadvantaged in the housing market for whatever reason. These include young women, women exiting correctional facilities and women experiencing domestic violence.
WHL provides management services within the Victorian Transitional Housing Management (THM) program, the Victorian Rooming House Program and is a developer of social housing for women.
Women's Justice Network
Women's Justice Network is a grassroots community charity governed by women, including reformed ex-prisoners, dedicated to advancing the prospects and wellbeing of women and female youth affected by the criminal justice system. WIPAN addresses the many issues facing criminalised women and female youth both systemically, by advocating to improve the criminal justice systems and individually, by mentoring.
Many of our women and girls are survivors of institutional care, sexual abuse and domestic and family violence. Our women and girls face extreme economic hardship and disadvantage despite their efforts to turn their lives around.
Women's Legal Centre ACT
The Women’s Legal Centre ACT is a specialist legal service based in Canberra, providing legal and non-legal support to Canberra’s most vulnerable women. We are a feminist, nationally accredited community legal centre, and provide free advice and representation to women on family law, employment and discrimination matters.
We are a member of the Women’s Legal Services Network, and contribute to law reform and policy initiatives.

WLS is a community legal service providing free legal and social work services to women in the areas of domestic violence and family law.
Women's Legal Service WA
WLSWA provides legal advice and assistance to women in WA. WLSWA provides legal assistance in the areas of family violence, family law and protection and care. We can provide women with information about Family Law, or an initial appointment which provides an opportunity to understand the relevant legal processes, her entitlements, and her options to take the next step in her matter. WLSWA also provides community legal education, works in law and policy reform, and has a financial counsellor as well as client support worker to provide a wrap around, holistic service to clients.
Women's Mentoring Foundation Ltd
The Women’s Mentoring Foundation’s (WMF) purpose is to improve service delivery for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) women and young people to help them heal from hurt, distress, grief and trauma experienced in their life. We support women primarily in rebuilding their self-leadership abilities through increasing confidence and focus – thus resulting in better mental, emotional, social and financial health, leading to transformation.

Womens Resource Centre
The Women's Resource Centre Bega NSW is a community service for the women of the Bega Valley. WRC is run on 'Women Power'. Enormous amounts of time and energy are given to our work both in the Centre and in the broader community. While some of this is paid work, a great deal comes free of charge and reflects the community commitment to WRC. In particular, unpaid management collective members and direct service volunteers contribute to the WRC on a weekly basis.
The centre is funded through the NSW Department of Communities and Justice - Targeted Earlier Intervention program.
The WRC objectives are:
To provide resources, including information and referral, to enable women to make informed choices.
To offer advocacy, support and resources for women with specific issues and needs.
Provide a safe and friendly space to relax and network with other women. WRC is place where women can simply walk in knowing that they will be free to express their concerns or worries.

Frequently asked questions
To receive donated items, services or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with a relevant support organisation who can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request(s) on GIVIT on your behalf.
To find relevant organisations in your area, use the search fields and filters above. Once you’ve input your filters, make sure you click ‘FIND AN ORGANISATION’ to find relevant organisations.
Thousands of organisations across Australia are registered with GIVIT, working across a variety of causes, hardships and demographics. Our priority is to respect and maintain the privacy, safety, dignity and independence of people reaching out for help. By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request arrange of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.

We recommend you speak with the support organisation that you’re working with. They may not be registered with GIVIT, or they may not have placed your request yet.
Please note that there is no guarantee that your request for donated items or services will be met. We’d love to meet every request placed on GIVIT, but your request being filled is dependent on donation(s) being made by donor(s).

Disaster and emergency recovery
If a natural disaster or emergency event has impacted you, lease visit your state or territory government’s disaster support page to see what assistance is available, including disaster payments, grants and financial aid.
Australian Capital Territory Government
You can also access information via national resources - National Emergency Management Authority and Services Australia.
Domestic and family violence
If your life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000 for emergency assistance.
If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.
Financial hardship
The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.
Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.
Homelessness
If you’re experiencing or at risk of homelessness, you can find homeless shelters near you by searching on the Ask Izzy website.
Your state or territory government can also help. Listed below are the options by state or territory.
Mental health, depression or anxiety
If you or someone else’s life is in daanger, call Triple Zero 000.
You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.
You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.
If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.
For First Nations Australians
If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
Children or young people experiencing hardship
Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.
For people living with disability
The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
For refugees and asylum seekers
If you’re a refugee or asylum seeker and you need help, you can contact the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre on 03 9326 6066 Monday to Friday for support.
For people struggling with addiction
The National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is a 24/7 service that provides free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs. You can call them on 1800 250 015.
Alternatively, Alcohol & Drug Counselling Online offers 24/7 online chat counselling.
